The Ask:
Assuming the role of designer, merchandiser, and sales rep, develop and utilize 12 pattern designs to development a capsule for an activewear brand of your choice. Capsule line sheet is to be presented to peers.
The Process:
For this project, I was inspired by the architectural design elements of my mother's home country of Bosnia and the former republic of Yugoslavia. When assembling a mood board to draw design elements from, I chose a diverse range of images, juxtaposing Cold War brutalism with classical Balkan architecture. This was done to highlight the rich and varied history of the region, a task that aided the project as well my own understanding and connection to the region.

Upon completion of textile prints and patterns based on my selected inspiration, I selected Under Armour as the capsules brand due to the more robust and utilitarian image that it holds in my mind mirroring the hardworking spirit of former Yugoslavia. The garments I chose to visualize were a mix of athleisure apparel like hoodies, sweatpants, and t-shirts, with a direct athletic addition of a compression shirt.

The Outcome:
The final package produced was an inspired and thoughtful line sheet assortment showcasing a hypothetical Under Armour capsule collection. This project was my first introduction to creating flats in Adobe Illustrator, leaving me with an indispensable skill under my belt.
